A Trip to Luxembourg

Luxembourg City is the capital of, you got it, Luxembourg! It’s a relatively small city of around 114,000 people, although, Luxembourg as a whole country only has around 590,000 people living there. Luxembourg packs a punch though.

It’s known for being a very rich country, second richest in the world, actually, and widely considered Europe’s most powerful investment management center.

As you will soon find out, I can very much see how Luxembourg would be considered very rich.

How Did We Get There?

Luxembourg City was only about an hour and a half from where we lived. So a buddy of mine decided to leave early in the morning to make a trip out there.

The whole reason for this trip was to buy a suit for our Dubai trip. We also wanted to knock another country off our list, so this one was an easy hit.

What Did We Do There?

Our whole goal was shopping. There was a certain suit store we were aiming for, however, that only took a few minutes to get through. The rest of the time was spent walking the other myriad of stores they had there.

This myriad was very much out of the question for our wallets.

I had never been in a luxury store before, I had passed them and window shopped in cities like Milan, but I’ve never been in there to actually look around.

We went to stores like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and others just to see what the prices were like. For some reason, I love looking at stuff I can’t afford. I don’t know why I do that to myself, but it’s pretty fun!

We didn’t actually buy anything, but it was fun to look around at least!

Luxembourg City

After doing our “shopping,” we walked the city a bit to get a feel for the culture of Luxembourg. Everyone there was dressed very nice, and the city was very clean.

After a bunch of walking, we ended up stumbling upon the Notre Dame Cathedral. The Notre Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg just so happens to be the ONLY cathedral in Luxembourg.

It was built between the years of 1613 and 1938, so, on the grand scheme of things, it is a pretty young cathedral.

After our dose of exploration, we grabbed a nice lunch with some wine in the city center.

They were having some sort of event in the town center that day, so there was nice live music playing as we ate. The wine was really good though! We only had one glass, because we had to drive back home soon, but it was a nice relaxing day overall!

Heading Home

After a good day in Milan, we headed back to our Airbnb in Venice, got a good night’s rest, and headed out in the morning.

Overall, it was a trip that was well worth it. If we had more time there, we would have loved to explore more around the area.
